5 Interzones is part of Waterways of Lincoln, an extended project which started in 2012 with 5 Nocturnes based at the Foss Dyke Navigation (canal).

The work sits in a place between music and sonic art. It is music as an abstracted medium, or sonic art created with a 12-pitch palette, words, and non-pitched sound.

Each Waterways of Lincoln project takes a specific location and 5 Interzones takes as its location Sincil Dyke at Titanic Building / Great Northern Terrace.

There are five short sound compositions for piano, for performance, each lasting a little over one minute and five time stretched versions for sound installation. This ep is a recording of the original piano pieces with a stretched (x20) version of Interzone 4 as a bonus item.

A copy of the launch brochure is included (pdf) in the purchase and a score of the piano pieces is available on request.
